Crescents Fall Programs

Pee-Wee Lacrosse Program for children Age 3-6.

 

FALL SCHEDULE:

10 Sundays (Saturday's at Trinity School) Sept- Nov

Each practice will be 1 hour

 

The foundation of the pee wee program is to develop our young athletes in a "fun" and "active" environment. This co-ed, non-contact program will introduce the basic lacrosse skills. Our goal is to teach hand-eye coordination while learning the fundamentals of lacrosse - catching, throwing, ground balls and communicating with one another. Gives the youngest players the opportunity to develop basic movement skills like running, jumping, landing, kicking, scooping, throwing and catching in a fun setting built around informal play and positive reinforcement These skills will lead them to the next level of team play. Sessions will include skill instruction and fun activities that build on previously learned skills.

 

INSTRUCTORS: Crescents Pee Wee Program Directors, Kassim Howell and Bevin Walsh will instruct this program with the assistance of student and parent volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for this program please contact . No prior experience is necessary.

 

REGISTRATION: Registration opens in JUNE for fall programs. Registration can be completed on-line at www.brooklyncrescents.com. Payment must be paid in full before the first practice of the season.

 

LOCATION: The program will be held at Poly Prep Day School

 

EQUIPMENT: For both boys and girls lacrosse stick is the only necessary piece of equipment, loaner sticks may be available. Gloves, Goggles and any additional equipment are optional.

 

FEE: $250 Registration Fee includes a reversible top.

(Program cost is not adjusted if dates of program are adjusted due to field conditions)

 

Our Pee Wee Program will follow US Lacrosse Athlete Development Model Stage 1

 

 

 


CRESCENTS BLUE PROGRAM: AGES 7-14

 

FALL Lacrosse Program for children Age 7-14.

Teams organized by age 7u/8u, 9u/10u, 11u/12u, 13u/14u (see chart below for more info)

 

FALL SCHEDULE:

10 Sundays: Sept- Nov

9u and older Each practice will be 1.5 hour (8U practice will be 1 hour)

This program will focus on introducing players to basic lacrosse skills and will utilize a progression based curriculum. Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of lacrosse - catching, throwing, cradling,  ground balls and teamwork. The development of these skills will lead them to the next level of team play. Practice sessions will include skill instruction and fun activities that build on previously learned skills. The season includes 3-4 games/tournaments for participants 9u and older.
 

INSTRUCTORS: Crescents Girls and Boys Program Directors, Lauren Burrows, Andy Simons, Carol Fiore, Wes Jackson and Todd Ernst will oversee this program with the assistance of a number of qualified and trained volunteer coaches.   • Boys: Lacrosse stick, gloves, mouthpiece are necessary . All players, with the exception of the goalkeeper, must wear shoulder pads. Arm pads are required and rib pads are strongly recommended, and often required, as are athletic supporters and protective cups for all players.

 

  • Girls: Lacrosse stick, goggles and mouthpiece are required. Gloves are optional.

Crescents Program: BOYS Orange

FALL SCHEDULE:

10 Sundays: Sept- Nov

9 Thursdays

Program:

The Crescents Orange program is to designed to be a challenging and competitive program. Participantsare expected to put in maximum effort. This program will continue to build on fundamental lacrosse skills, while incorporating more complex big picture concepts and will include highly competitive playing opportunities. Our goal is to provide an environment for each athlete to be challenged and continue develop their skills while learning the importance of being committed to a team.

 

Player:

11U/12U and 13U/14U: I am a lacrosse player with experience and I am ready for the next level. I want to continue to learn the game and I really want to be challenged. I am committed to practicing 2 days a week and know that my playing time is dependent upon my attendance at practice. I would like to play at least 6- 7games and tournaments combined. I know that I am expected to be at all games and tournaments and I am committed to being there. I want to play in high level, competitive tournaments, against some of the best teams in the area.

I understand that I would need to be invited to play for this team and that it will cost a bit more because of tournament fees and extra field time.

FEE:  11u/12u: $300

          13u/14u: $300

Fee includes a Reversible uniform top and shorts . (Program cost is not adjusted if dates of program are adjusted due to weather or field conditions).

           

Additional Tournament & Extra Practice Fee: $395 to be added upon placement

 

$300 deposit is due at time of registration, balance will be charged to your account once team roster is announced. Players will be assessed on the first day of practice. Any child that is not placed on the Orange team will be automatically placed on Blue.

 

CRESCENTS PROGRAM: HS GIRLS TOURNAMENT TEAM

FALL Lacrosse Program for girls Age 15-18.

 

FALL SCHEDULE:

10 Sundays Sept- Nov

Each practice will be 1.5 hour

 

This program is designed to provide high quality instruction wth a focus on skill development, full field/ team play concepts and team work, along with the opportunity for competitive play in tournaments throughout the Tri-state are. The season includes 2- 3 games/tournaments.
 

INSTRUCTORS: Crescents Girls Program Directors, Andy Simons, Carol Fiore will oversee this program while instruction will be provided by coaches that have collegiate playing experience. If you are interested in volunteering for this program please contact . No prior experience with the Crescents is necessary, however, proior lacrosse experience is highly recommended.

Crescents White: SUNDAY CLINICS

Season: SEPT 10- NOV 19

 

Program: The foundation of the Crescents White program is to develop our young athletes in a "fun" and "active" clinic style environment. This program will focus on introducing players to basic lacrosse skills and utilize a progression based curriculum . Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of lacrosse - catching, throwing, cradling,  ground balls and teamwork. The development of these skills will lead them to the next level of team play. Sessions will include skill instruction and fun activities that build on previously learned skills.

 

Player: This program is for the beginning lacrosse player with limited to no experience. For athletes that want to learn the skills and fundamentals of the lacrosse, NO GAME PLAY. These clinics will be held 1x a week. THIS PROGRAM IS A CLINIC SERIES FOR BEGINNERS. AGES 9-14.

 

As an athlete develops their skills through the season, there may be the opportunity to move up to the Blue program. Please note that doing so would cost more.
