My name is Rachel and I have been playing lacrosse since I was in 6th grade. I played throughout high school, and for a few years in Club Lacrosse at the University of Miami. I now play for the post-collegiate team, the Central Lacrosse Cougars. I have always loved coaching, and when I was in high school I founded an annual weeklong summer clinic in which I coached the younger players from our district along with my teammates and my high school coach. Before receiving my first full time job, I was hired as an assistant coach for my middle school team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. However, I had to leave the position after a few months to accept the job I currently have. My desire to coach however, never lingered, and I am so excited to share my passion for lacrosse with the Brooklyn Crescents!
I'm from Syracuse, NY, Go Cuse! I started playing lacrosse when I was in 6th grade and very quickly fell in love with the game. I only played field one year, as our team was in special need of a goalie. I had no fear and put on the helmet and pads and never looked back. After that I was what you would call a four seasons lacrosse player. Indoor, outdoor, anywhere I could play. I graduated from East Syracuse Minoa high school as a 4 year varsity starter and then went on to play at college at SUNY Oswego where I started my Freshman year. During college I coached 7th, 8th, and 9th grade girls during the summers. I also did one on one coaching with goalies in the Syracuse area. I continue to play in post collegiate tournaments. I look forward to coaching and teaching young players about the game, and hope to instill the same love that I had and have for it today.
