GIRLS PROGRAM DIRECTOR: JEN NARDI
Jen Nardi serves as the executive and enters her first season as head coach of the Poly Prep Girls lacrosse team.
Nardi joins Poly after a 2 year stint as the head coach of the University of Hartford. Nardi led the Hawks to break eleven single-season records, leading to the program's most successful season in its history. Before taking over the program at Hartford, Coach Nardi served as head coach at Manhattanville College for four seasons from 2018-21.
Nardi compiled 21 wins during her time at Manhattanville. Her career was highlighted by a 2018 campaign that saw the Valiants score a school-record 258 goals and finish in a three-way tie for first place in the competitive MAC Freedom.
Each of Nardi's final two seasons at Manhattanville in 2020 and 2021 were shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Valiants were off to a great start in 2020 prior to the shutdown, though, as they started off the campaign with a 4-1 record after averaging 17.2 goals per game and holding opponents to just 8.6 scores per contest.
Prior to landing at Manhattanville, Nardi was the head coach at Smith College from 2012-14. In her first season in 2012, she led the Pioneers to the finals of the ECAC New England Region Championship for the first time in program history. In addition, she was named Smith's Coach of the Year after finishing that season with a 10-9 record, the most wins in a single season in program history.
Nardi brings a wealth of experience, previously spending time as an assistant coach at the University of Vermont, the University of Massachusetts, Long Island University (BK) and the University of California. She also served as the interim head coach at Colby Sawyer College in 2007, where she helped lead the team to an 8-7 record and a Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament berth.
Nardi enjoyed an illustrious collegiate career at UMass. A goalie from 1998-01, she graduated as the program's all-time leader in saves and finished with a stellar 7.91 goals-against average and .624 save percentage over 55 career games.
An Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Northeast Region First Team selection as a junior in 2000, Nardi helped pilot the Minutewomen to an Atlantic 10 Championship after she led all NCAA Division I goalies in both goals-against average (6.75) and save percentage (.644). The year before, she shattered the school record after posting a .700 save percentage.
BOYS PROGRAM DIRECTOR: CHRIS SULLIVAN
Coach Sullivan played his HS lacrosse on Long Island at Garden City High School, where his teams won multiple county and Long Island championships as well as the school's first NYS Class A championship. At the collegiate level Coach Sullivan was a 4 year starter on attack for Villanova University, and named a Division 1 All-American following his senior season. He finished his collegiate career at Villanova with school records for both points and goals in a career, the latter of which was broken this past spring by 2023 PLL star and Tewaaraton Award finalist Matt Campbell. He still holds Villanova Lacrosse records for goals per game, most points in a single season, average points per game for a career, and average points per game in a season.
Coach Sullivan was inducted into the Villanova Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. After his collegiate playing career he went on to play internationally for a season in Australia with the Melbourne Cricket Club of the Australian State League, 2 seasons of professional indoor lacrosse with the NY Saints of the NLL (National Lacrosse League), and then 15 years with the New York Athletic Club of the USCLA and ALL.
A former girls program director with the Brooklyn Crescents youth lacrosse program, Coach Sullivan is presently the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach at Brooklyn Technical High School, where his team won the PSAL Championship in 2023. Coach Sullivan is committed to moving the game of lacrosse forward for boys and girls at the youth and high school levels through developmental individual and small group camps and clinics.
